Capcom has announced that a playable demo of their upcoming release, Lost Planet 2, is heading our way.

Ten years has passed since the original exploration, and the face of E.D.N. III has changed dramatically. Terraforming efforts have been successful and the ice has begun to melt, giving way to lush tropical jungles and harsh unforgiving deserts. Players will enter this new environment and follow the exploits of their own customized snow pirate on their quest to seize control of the changing planet.

Featuring the “Turbulent Jungle” map from the online versus mode, the new Lost Planet 2 demo will include full chat support and stat tracking. Players who download and play the demo will be rewarded when they purchase the full retail version of Lost Planet 2 with immediate access to the Machine Gun SP which fires three round bursts.

Get ready to grab some weapons, hop in a vital suit, and battle with 16 players in real time when the demo hits on April 21st for Xbox 360 owners, and April 22nd for PlayStation 3 users.

The game is due for release in May.
