Microsoft have confirmed that the 250GB Xbox 360 hard drive will be available to purchase next month.

The drive, which to date has only been made available as part of the consoles' Limited Edition status models will retail for approximately £80.

Until now, Microsoft has stated that the drive would only be part of 'console bundles', but when trade magazine MCV brought an Amazon store listing to their attention, they changed tack;

“The 250GB hard drive offers the player more space to store game content and full titles with games on demand. They’ll also have more freedom to download the latest demos, Xbox Live arcade games, TV shows, movies, music and more straight to their Xbox 360 console.”

The drive will be available from April 16th.
