Xbox 360 Losing Weight

Pictures escaping from China think so...
The Xbox 360 could be due a trim soon, If rumours emerging from China are to be believed.

Gaming site Kotaku have a picture of a redesigned motherboard, showing the latest design for the Microsoft console.

Microsoft aren't strangers to the jiggling of the Xbox 360. It's been tweaked and prodded since it was launched, with smaller, more heat efficient chipsets and better cooling to reduce the 'Red Ring of Death', which they have done to an extent.

This picture however shows a complete rebuild, complete with combined processor and GPU, and a much smaller form factor.

This change may result in us seeing an Xbox 360 Slim soon, maybe around the same time as the Project Natal launch this Autumn, giving the 360 a much needed style makeover.

Personally, doubts arise with the types of components used (then again, we could assume this is a test rig), and a massive salt pinching session is planned for later today. We'll keep you posted as more is known.
