Of course it's a new trilogy; it's three new games. Trilogies don't have to be specifically labelled 1, 2, and 3 you know? One of the greatest trilogies in the history of cinema consisted of episodes 4, 5, and 6.

The only reason I would consider this a separate trilogy even though it's continuing the old story is that it's made by a new dev. And with a new engine!

It would only be a Hexlogy if all 6 games were the same story arc. However 4-6 are a new storyline.
