Super 8

It's probably from one of Spielberg's films. I love the tone of the trailer, it's very much ET/The Goonies/Stand By Me.

This could be fantastic!

but could it be on the same level of greatness as those ?

I think that tone of the trailer is what's putting me off. I was looking forward to something strange and gruesome, as opposed to mysterious and playful.

The 8 or so page prequel comic in almost all the current DC titles was very cool.

You must have very high expectations then, because I'm seeing excellent comments.

The new trailers I'm seeing are giving it a better tone. I've seen so many different moods come from the advertising of this that I don't know what to think. I'm really considering going just to see if it's good, but I don't want to waste my money... Ugh.

Just a heads up, I know I already mentioned it in another thread, but this movie is amazing. It is something you need to see in theaters too.

These are all from the front page. I'm not sure which of these comments you rate as excellent?

When I looked, it was all good comments.

Most of those are parts of the positive comments (tomatoed). I'm just pointing out that although the film has a high approval rating, the comments aren't stellar.
