Can't believe it! Activision suck ass, does that mean no more Geo Wars or PGR? And what about a Blur 2? How can Bizarre Creations be shut down!

MS own the PGR IP I think so it'll be farmed out to another Developer. Not sure about Geo Wars.

Terrible news if true. They are such a talented developer and responsible for IMO the best racing series to date with MSR and PGR. Activision really aren't doing themselves any favours by closing them down

MSR and PGR are certainly among the best racing games of all time for me. Shame

Wow, that sucks. I was hoping to try and get a job with Bizarre in the not too distant future. I guess there's a lesson to be learned here about selling out to a big publisher like Activision.

Not closed! Possible sale. Activision probably don't want them. They haven't had a great deal of success since PGR. Blur, whilst a fantastic game, bombed real hard. And their new 007 game... isn't doing very well.

Activision wrote:Over the past three years since our purchase of Bizarre Creations, the fundamentals of the racing genre have changed significantly," said a spokesperson for the publisher.

"Although we made a substantial investment in creating a new IP, Blur, it did not find a commercial audience.

"Bizarre is a very talented team of developers, however, because of the broader economic factors impacting the market, we are exploring our options regarding the future of the studio, including a potential sale of the business."

Can we get some perspective? What the hell did Bizarre do for Activision honestly? Their biggest game was Geometry Wars 2. Great game, but you're not making big money on that.

Geo Wars 2: Cheap to make, cheap to sell = It did pretty good
Blur: Meh promoted, long development time = Sold like crap
Blood Stone: Short development time, big license, an older engine they made so didn't cost much = reviewed and sold like crap

This has been on the books for a while. It was a mistake for Activision to buy them.

I just hope Microsoft snap up the people responsible for the original PGR's and make a new PGR.

I think this is what everyone is thinking.

I can see that they wanted to move on and do new things. But if we are talking about saving jobs, this is really a no brainer. MS want a new PGR, Bizarre needs backing, Activision wants to cut it's losses and the fans want a true PGR.

If a new studio isn't formed, or even if it is, I'd wager a fair few might end up at SCEE Liverpool. Same city, and they're hiring for racing titles as we speak.

Please tell me they're working on a true PS3 version of wipeout. Dont get me wrong Fury was great but was essentially an upscaled PSP game.
