I'm in, I already own Little Big Planet, but you get the game free as a downloadable copy to keep forever if you subscribe within the first week...I like the thought of LBP always on my Harddrive, cos it's a game you jump in and out of, plus you'll get about £8 for the game on eBay

Loads of cool features, most of the games I buy on xbox marketplace or PSN I buy and then only play for a week or two, so having them like this sounds really good to me. You keep the games until you end ya subscription, but by then your prolly not playing them anymore anyways so it doesn't matter!

I think it sounds like a really good worth while subscription service!

so basically xbox live lite (online gaming remains free) It might work but then again it might push away people.

I like the idea better than XBL.

XBL in essence all your paying for is Online play and cross game chat.

With this thing its more in addition to the free stuff you get anyways, your getting some free games and discounts. Good if your a user of the PSN store or want some free games.

If sony got the cross game chat I think theyd sort out the hardcore xbl crowd who are multi console owners that state cross game chat is a mandatory feature for online gaming, which when it was grand in ye olde xbox days before it was about

xbox live have discounts all the time for gold members and I'm pretty sure party chat and private chat is free to silver users. Pretty much the core features of xbox live is available to silver members with the exception of online gaming, access to certain services and discounts.

PlayStation plus looks pretty nice though with their introduction of full retail game trials. Xbox 360s games on demand service is good but its all old games.

And it's expensive. I could find all the games that are on there for cheaper in shops. Atleast with this they'll give you games, too.

Thats another thing that bugs me about digital downloads pricing still is so damn unrealistic to the content you are buying. I can understand a game costing £20 in a shop since you are buying an actual disc which cost money to make and ship and other costs associated to it. £20 for a copy of the data of the game ? the prices should reflect the delivery system as well as when the game was released. Why should any one put £20 on a game you know you can get for £5 in GAME or gamestation.

Exactly, pretty sure they said the games would be cheaper if you got the download instead of a disc.

On the podcasts they always say its cos the shops like GAME have too much control, in that they (Microsoft etc) have to keep them happy so that they will stock their consoles etc.

But, I don't believe that...I'm sure 90% of games/consoles etc are sold online now? I think Microsoft/SONY should be brave and just say sod it, we are gonna sell these games a lot cheaper as digital downloads. Steam does it and it works, everyone is happy, we get cheap games, they get money for games that we maybe wouldn't have brought, and you can't resell etc so everyone is happy ... apart from shops like GAME, but I think it's about time we said tough titties!

I have £40 in my PS3 wallet now for PlayStation plus, I'm excited to play Destruction Derby lol The amount of times I've almost brought that off the store, I'm glad I didn't now.

Well, I got it and the way it is implemented is very good. The new update is also a good one, adding a video editor on the dashboard with upload features and a rating system for the store, plus finally the store has a PS3 demos tab!

I don't think the argument of xbox live being better then PS3 network works anymore, I really don't. For me, PS3 is actually better online as it's free and isn't cluttered with adverts.

Must have had a gold trial, as they arent allowed normally.
