Pre order medal of honor for the Battlefield 4 Beta.
Surely BF4 has to be a next gen launch title right?

No, it'll be on the current gen oddly.

We just recorded this week's podcast at talked at length about this announcement and between Slicker, DogEyed and myself we couldn't really make sense of it other than for EA to make sure there's a big FPS for 2013 to combat Infinity Ward's next COD.

Wow, I just compared that with the game that shall not be named and there's been more BF games in a similar timeframe. Also, does this really surprise any one? Was it a rumour that I read that mentioned that one year we'd have BF then the next we'd have MoH and so on?

I think that's more a general assumption rather than rumor but it's probably a pretty safe assumption.
