I've not played a great deal of CS as I've never really gamed on the PC and when I played it on the Xbox I found it way to unforgiving and I almost immediately went back to RB6 3 which the vast majority of my friends played as well. So I never really gave it a chance. Knowing Valve this won't be out till nearer Easter so I might be willing to give it a go then.

Well the game is online only, so the trial will surely be a timed multiplayer demo. It should give you a good chance to see if it's a game for you. The series is very unforgiving and the kind that demands solid accuracy with harsh punishment for failure, a lot of people simply can't stomach that in today's multiplayer arenas.

Was a huge fan of this on pc back in the day before I had an Xbox and XBL, hated the CS on the original Xbox though but this just looks pure awesome sauce!

An old skool shooter with old skool gameplay for the old skool fans! none of this perks/upgrades/levelling up/noob tubes kinda shit that the kids seems to dig these days.

Anyway so is there a release date for this bad boy yet? This is definitely "Gonna get got!!" on day 1

That's PSN/Steam. Valve is going to allow KB+M and move support on PS3 for all their games.

that makes my choice of platform easy.

Xbox 360 gameplay:

I always used to laugh at the noobs back in the day on the PC playing CS with either @Warmup or @Drunk next to thier name

I enjoyed the Xbox version though I have to say mainly for the fact that we played it as a clan in FTA back in the day and was a good laugh. Even though the game was far behind the PC version.

It's one of the greatest games ever made for sure but I CAN NOT BELIEVE there's people at work that still play this seriously and care about no other game.
It's just so.........old!

CS is still one of the best games for team and individual skill in a hyper competitive environment. CS is definitely one of the best arguments for legitimising e-Sports.

finally got around to playing the beta and all I have to say is it's perfect. Counter Strike at its best the casual game modes are a bit weak. Competitive mode is classic CS graphics looks great game runs smooth and just a thrill to play.

Is this still on course to be released this month? I haven't heard anything for a while

The pre-buy option now exists on Steam, so it's coming for sure on there. We haven't heard about XBLA/PSN in a while, so...dunno.
