No, the demo has 2 demos. 2nd one is big open area where you use your custom character. First one is more story based and uses default characters I think.

How do you get to that then?

I played the Prologue one and the Griffin???

He means the Griffon quest lets you use your character. I dunno though. When I made the guy up, it did load into that quest, without prompting. As did the companion. It didn't load into the Prologue though.

Yes, I like it, the controls need some practice, and I don't like trusting Pawns to do their own thing, but at least they heal me when I need it.

I did feel it felt a bit chaotic during the Chimera fight, the Griffin fight was good though, the Strider class could be fun to play with.

I hope you can create a custom character but still be a Mage, as my dude I made is a humongous fella adapted from the Wolf skin wearing barbarian, but I want magic instead!

Think you can change class within the game world on the fly (full game). They're calling the classes "Vocations" which are kinda seperate to your character.

There are 9 classes commonly called "Vocations" in the world of Dragon's Dogma. The three base vocations: Fighter, Strider, and Mage. Three advanced vocations: Warrior, Ranger, and Sorcerer. And lastly three Hybrid vocations that only the Arisen may learn: Assassin, Mystic Knight, and Magic Archer.

Throughly enjoyed the demo for this! I thought the character creation was fun to use as well.

Does anyone know if there are going to be any special/collectors editions versions released?

In Japan they get a big CE with a Dragon statue, which is kinda like what Bethesda did with Skyrim. I think Shopto has some kind of armour code with it, so we might see some retailer exclusive loot.

I'm holding out for edition news. Nothing announced yet.

Just played this. I like it and will prob give it a bash when I'm finished with Max Payne. One thing though. Please tell me the black borders at the top and bottom of my screen won't be in the finished game?

Sure looked like a Snes game... So if this comes back with 8 and 9's out of 10, you're going to not buy it because you don't like the small black bars across the top and bottom of the screen? It's just the games aspect ratio.

Yep. I noticed them straight away and they bugged me for the 45mins I played the demo. They will be completely unbearable in what will no doubt be a 40+ hour game. For me anyway. I thought the days of black borders disappeared about 10 years ago?

So this game is designed to be played on a cinema screen?! Not sure that's too many people's standard gaming set up.

I'm was kinda hoping it's just Capcom being there usual lazy selves in porting the demo over from Japan or something.

yeah I thought that was just the demo if thats in the retail and it's not got an option to turn it off think I'll definitely give this a miss.
