Enjoyed the gameplay, the story I found utterly depressing though.

Well yeh, its not meant to be light regular shooter fair. Its meant to make you think. Much like the source material its based on or its numerous adaptations.

I didnt find it depressing, I found it thought provoking and interesting. Its had some genuinely powerful and moving moments. I also loved the various endings, a really nice touch.

Any good deals out there for this? After a few people's comments I think it might be worth a look.

I picked it up for £15 new during Black Friday. I just played the first 6 chapters and it's pretty damn good - the use of music is excellent!

I really want to play it. Its supposed to be a step forward in story for games. And harrowing as well.

I'm about a third of the way in and the story is damn good. The gameplay isn't anything to shout about but at the same time it's also entirely functional and fun.

Just finished this off. A really cracking action game. The story started to get a bit unpleasant towards the end but it's really well told and acted.

EDIT - a few hours later and this game is still haunting me somewhat. One particular scene would make 'No Russian' blush. Also, this shot is really stuck in my head. :(

Fantastic and interesting narrative for this game. It's also meant to be repulsive.

Just finished. Fucking fantastic.
Well, my game ended nothing like the the spoiler I read. All I had read is that you can shoot yourself in the head. The only option for Walker dying on my playthrough was shooting at Falcon squad when they come to rescue you, and getting killed. However, I just replayed chapter 15 and, now I can see where that moment arises. That's arguably the best ending, but I really did like the 'Welcome to Dubai' one too.

Some absolutely fantastic moments though. While it's made clear that something isn't right when Walker says "we've already done this" when doing the helicopter fight again, I thought he was in a coma; I had no idea he had descended into madness so early on. That reveal about the hanging bodies, and you choosing... the broken radio, Konrad's taunts... fuck!

I also liked the few choices you could make. I opted to try and save the two civilians, knowing it'd likely lead to Gould's death; I took mercy on Riggs, and shot him instead of leaving him to burn; and I did not open fire on the civilians who were crowding Walker and Adams, I shot the air and made them run.

The best, and most harrowing moment however, is the mortar. It's at its most harrowing when you see the burnt mother and child, but the best part is just before, when you see that massive explosion happening on the computer screen, in turn causing you to clearly see Walker's emotionless reflection looking right back at you at that exact moment.

Absolutely. Fucking. Brilliant.
