This registrar seemed to be the type that would put a gun to your temple and say..."THEN YOU FOUND JESUS, DIDN'T YOU?!" I'm pretty sure she tried to thrown holy water over us when we registered Scarlett.

Although, as a disturbing, yet hilarious insight into the state of modern society, she had to print and amend a 'single Mum' registration form. They didn't have one for two parents. They only had single parent forms.

The government's plans for gay marriage have been criticised by the most senior Roman Catholic cleric in Britain.

Cardinal Keith O'Brien, the leader of the Catholic Church in Scotland, said the plans were a "grotesque subversion of a universally accepted human right".

He said the idea of redefining marriage, which David Cameron has said he supports, would "shame the United Kingdom in the eyes of the world".

Writing in the Sunday Telegraph, Cardinal O'Brien said: "Since all the legal rights of marriage are already available to homosexual couples, it is clear that this proposal is not about rights, but rather is an attempt to redefine marriage for the whole of society at the behest of a small minority of activists.

"Same-sex marriage would eliminate entirely in law the basic idea of a mother and a father for every child. It would create a society which deliberately chooses to deprive a child of either a mother or a father."

He added: "Imagine for a moment that the government had decided to legalise slavery but assured us that 'no one will be forced to keep a slave'.

"Would such worthless assurances calm our fury? Would they justify dismantling a fundamental human right?"

The most senior Roman Catholic cleric in Britain, Cardinal Keith O’Brien, has spoken out against gay marriage, claiming that just because he doesn’t have the first clue what he’s talking about shouldn’t stop him talking to everyone about it.

O’Brien claimed that gay marriage would deprive children of a traditional upbringing which should include a mother, a father, and a shady old man who touches them in church.

He told the Sunday Telegraph, “What’s important here is that we think of the children. No-one wants to see unhappy kids – particularly not priests. Crying kids are desperately unattractive.”

“Plus, any child brought up in a happy loving household is likely to be harder to prey on, even if that household is a gay one.”

BRITAIN'S Catholics have been urged to defend the institution of marriage by campaigning against gay divorce.

Scientists have confirmed that divorce is the one thing that really does undermine marriage, paving the way for Catholics and other traditional Christians to oppose it in all its gay forms.

Monsignor Bill McKay said: "The idea of gay divorce is utterly grotesque. Those men whom God has joined together let no other man put asunder.

"The commitment at the heart of marriage is one of the essential building blocks of a healthy society. A minority of extremists must not be allowed to destroy that in the divorce courts."

I do like how quite often the most hardcore anti-gay people turn out to be closet cases themselves.

I really don't understand what he means.

Maybe he thinks people who have a same-sex marriage would otherwise have had an opposite-sex marriage and produced children? But that makes no sense.

Or maybe he thinks that gay married couples will all go out and adopt children (or have IVF/surrogates etc.)? But that makes no sense either, as gay couples can already adopt, they don't need to be married.

Basically, everything he said is complete bollocks.

I don't like how the people most vocal to judge other people's sexual behavior are usually people who don't get any themselves. Have a wank, get a hooker, do something as long as you also shut up.

People should be allowed to marry whoever they love and regardless of sexuality be able to adopt and have a family.
