Hmm. Maybe

Forgot about VLC. I'll grab that now :)

Yeah, I'm used to the @ being in the wrong place 'cos of using a Mac at work. Didn't know the # keys though!

Tweetbot for Mac? Nice.

Always a good way to check if a web designer knows how to code, ask them where the # key is on their mac. If he takes more than a second he's a dreamweaver using fairy.

You could always use a normal USB keyboard and set it up so it's natural for you.

On the VLC thing, I actually prefer Movist. The new version is fantastic and far more user friendly that VLC.

Regarding Alt+3 for the hash. Not on mine. Since Mountain Lion I can't get it to work AT ALL.
If anyone has any ideas, let me know.

The old Safari was dreadful, but the new one is MUCH better. Gone back to that being my main browser.

On Apple bashers, on value and so on.
I bought my Late 2008 Aluminium MacBook in, well, late 2008 for Uni. The 2.4 one.
Since then I've upgraded to a measly 4GB Ram which is the max.
Now for a 4 year old computer, it has been bloody brilliant.
Gets a bit hot, and has the occasional slow issue and so on. But nothing bad at all.
All my mates laptops they got for Uni have all fallen to pieces now.

Have considered putting an SSD in it, as a cheaper upgrade, and put a normal HDD in the optical bay drive so I would run applications off the SSD but would still have my HDD for all my music and so on.

Make sure the keyboard language hasn't changed.

Sounds great. Apart from the slowness, limited ram, needing a new hard drive, it getting hot and not all the keys being available.
My five year old windows laptop doesn't do any of that and I paid almost £400 for it. Hmmm.

I got a laptop in 07 for Uni which was practically unusable by graduation in 2010. I bought a Dell when it died that year and that died in April. I'm on my third laptop in 5 years. Nothing lasts anymore... I suppose for the £1500 I spent on those three, I could have got a MacBook if the PC World guy didn't put me off in 07.

You bought a Dell, that's part of your problem. Dell's products are known for being dogshit. My Acer has lasted five years.

I have a right tank of an old Dell laptop at home as my computer of last resort. If everything else breaks (Mac, Alienware PC, other PCs, Mini Mac, Media Center PC) I always know my old Dell will work, it's slow as fuck but it'll always work. Weighs about 2 tonnes, no wifi (that's how old it is) USB 1, battery lasts about 5 minutes max.

Anyways, back on the quest for the new iPhone.

It seems the switch to a larger screen seem very likely. No wider but taller so it'll be a 16:9 screen, basically a extra row of apps on the home screen. Should help on the gaming side to with the controllers being further away from the action on the screen. The latest version of Xcode simulator supports this resizing too.

The Apple/Samsung case has also thrown up small emails that seem to show the Mini iPad has been in discussion at Apple, so I'd be shocked if it didn't happen now. Leaks of a "case" seem to show it as everyone is guessing, an exactly scaling down of the iPad, 4:3 screen and all. No camera (which makes sense from a cost perspective, and well taking photos on a tablet still looks stupid). It also appears to have the same style and new connector that the new iPhone does.

As I've said before if they do it and the price is anywhere near the Nexus 7/Kindle Fire, it's going to be a huge hit. Like the iPod mini/nano.

Also, I think I mentioned earlier. The date is looking like September 12th Announcement, 21st for release. Which is usually the time of year Apple announce their new iPods and music stuff.

I can't wait. New iPhone time has been a while coming for me, 2 years since the iPhone 4. I don't see any 'revolutionary' advancements which can be made to seriously improve it..however I'll be happy with a small bump up from the specs of the 4S.

Got the money already set aside for the new iPhone, can't wait.

I'm hoping a decent official case/bumper is out same time.

I wonder if an iPhone Smart Case would work? :)

As awesome as an iphone smart cover would be....I get the feeling it would be too fidgety and wee to be practical! could definitely be made though...
