F1 2012 - Round 2, Malaysia

It's Grand Prix time again!

The Malaysian GP gets underway in less then 6 hours time with practice 1 at 2am. I'll be listening to it at work on 5Live sports extra. Word on the street is, Thunderstorms are a coming! If it rains it's gonna be crazy, but can we make predictions this time like we used to do last year etc?

I predict the following

Qualifying - Schumacher on pole
Race - Kimi on Podium

I'm really excited for this one

McLaren Pole, McLaren win. Red Bull Podium.

I'll go.. Vettel pole. Hamilton win.

Yeah, Schumachers Mercedes is gonna fly down them massive long strights with the DRS system they have in Qualifying. Renault look good on race pace and Kimi is up for it!

McLaren or Mercedes on pole.

McLaren's strength in winter testing was high speed corners, so they were good in Australia and should be even better hear. Mercedes will be good down those straights and that could be worth enough in quali to steal pole.

A McLaren to win the race, hopefully Hamilton bounces back now he knows why he got a bad start and why Button was slightly faster. If they don't get the fuelling wrong like they did in Melbourne they should fly.

Jenson's really good round here, I reckon another win for him, and another sulk for Lewis. I was really disappointed with his performance at Melbourne.

Looks like we have the cheese tyres back again for this weekend then Gonna be interesting this one.

Oh, I saw Senna last night, finally. Really great film for F1 fans. I still remember that day, still such a sad event. Ruban's smash early in that event, and obviously Rantzenburger's, were far bigger.

I'd never seen the Martin Donnelly crash, shocking. I can't believe he survived that.

Seeing the Williams FW15C, bouncing in the garage on it's own active suspension really hit home how ahead that car was, it made me wonder where we'd be today if things like that didn't get banned.

Also it's quite mazing how different F1 is from then, so much more professional (medical cars looked like 2nd hand Saabs) and obviously safer.

Wow! That was close, 4 teams could have got pole there, this is fantastic! I hope the race is this close, again, the start is gonna be amazingly intense! Cannot wait

Also, seeing Schumacher back at the front makes me so happy, hope they have a good race car. I want Schumacher vs Lewis!

Sky's coverage is really good, I've not really used the iPad app during a session yet as I these early ones I don't watch live and I don't want to open the and be spoiled straight away. Looking forward to european races, then I can watch live with the iPad stuff too.

I've watched the BBC highlights programmes and I totally prefer Sky's stuff.

That iPad app looks pretty cool man!

I wish Sky would use Georgie more, she's kinda being wasted in the SkyPad cos hosting The F1 Shows she does a really good job. That's my only negative with the Sky coverage, same with Ted, in the F1 Show he is brilliant but hardly does anything in the live races.

That Simon bloke, I'm slowly warming to him. The pre race/qualifying buildup is my most impressive thing about Sky, I actually enjoy the pre buildup for the first time in years now

Also, still can't believe 0.4 covered the top 8 in Qualifying, let's hope it's like this all year and if Ferrari sort themselves out it could be the top 10 covered by half a sec

This is too good, not only has the SkySports F1 channel got allthe GP2 / GP3 races live, they have the 2012 IndyCar season live too. Starts tomorrow at 5:30PM LIVE well happy!

Pleased with Quali, but need Schumacher to stay in 3rd to ruin Red Bulls day. Vettel could be a danger on the hards in 5th but McLaren should have the pace to get the job done.
