What's everyones views on Brendan Rodgers to Liverpool then? At first I wasn't convinced, I worried it might have been one of those "flavour of the month" appointments. A bit like Owen Coyle when he first took over at Bolton? However the more I read about him the more I'm looking forward to next season! Young manager with a lot of potential. He likes to play nice football, too, which is another plus!

What does everyone else think? I'd be interested to see if Swansea fans think its a job he is up to? Or is it a move to a big club a bit too soon?

I'd imagine many Swansea fans think that he was merely carrying on the good work initially started by Martinez and then Sousa.


His record pre Swansea isn't exactly inspiring, will be interesting to see if he can set up the club, rather than purely carrying on what was sorted prior to his arrival. I would have to say that as a neutral Liverpool are a club which requires a hell of a lot of work to get anywhere near the top 4 again.

Sousa was a numpty whom had no respect from his players while at Swansea. He's the reason Leon Britton left to go to Sheffield Utd; Rodgers brought him back. If given time, Rodgers could well be Liverpool's equivalent to Alex Ferguson.

As for Rodgers, it's quite a step up (No offence to Swans fans) to me the Liverpool job is like the England job, unless you win everything all the time you'll be in for a tough time. He did a good job for Swansea, I'm surprised he didn't stay, he got them to a point where they can easily stabilise themselves in the premiership, have a few decent cup runs and be a legend there for ever more.

It'll be interesting to see what happens to the players in the current Liverpool squad what with the way the team where playing and with Rodgers style of play.
