In the book, everything was building up to this moment, you sensed that it was going to be massive. All the schemes Tyrion put into place lead to this. sadly, the show didn't really make this apparant. There was no chain, no training of the archers and catapult users and they didn't make wildfire a big deal before this.

You never really see battles in the books, they are more heard about and you see the repercussions of these fights. Game of Thrones was never about sword fights and epic battles. That's what Lord of the Rings is for. In Thrones, we get complex and brilliant characters and don't get me wrong, I love action as much as the next guy but Game of Thrones is not an action show, it is a drama first and fore-most.

That may be so, but you have to think, theres are 55 minute episodes, and theres 10 of them verses a 700 page book, there is a limit on what can be taken from that, and as Cow says, it was done very well in the manner that was possible. Plus we still have the last episode to go, and I see that being split into two main characters, Jon and Daenerys

As a non-book-reader I can say that I thought the series conveyed all of the "impending war" anticipation brilliantly. Perhaps your expectations are different but I loved it.

I agree with Cow. I also thought them only mentioning the wildfire once some episodes back was a good thing, it made it all the more impactful. When they crazy guy showed up with the torch I knew we were in for some fireworks, but I didn't think it'd be a neon green nuclear explosion :D

A man stayed up late to watch the finale, instead of waiting for Monday.

A man enjoyed it.

A man is sad there is now a year to wait.

WTF was with that ending? Now I wish I actually read the books instead of giving them to my brother.

Bloody hell, talk about leaving the viewers hanging on a giant fucking cliff. Oh well, until next year.

Ah man, that was so good, everything crammed in without too much being left out, Dan's Tower sequence was different from the book but this one made more sense, Arya's was pretty much spot on, as was Tywin's. Jon's and the Crow's was also great. Loving the WW's!

If I remember correctly, didn't Arya meet Jon at the wall in one of the season trailers before it premiered?

It's a shame this is so expensive and we only get 10 episodes a season. Great stuff though; Arya and Daenerys are still easily my favourite characters, I just wish we had more from them. A lot more 'fantasy' this season. It'll be be very interesting to see what they do with season 3 now the zombie horde is on the move.

Have you read the books?

The only thing I was thinking about was the riddle that she should of heard in the Tower, the 3 fates?
